Principles

I don’t know how thick this physical book is but reading in on my blue kindle basic 10th felt really long. Not a boring book by any means but it contains to much helpful information so it was hard for me to keep up. Will definitely need to go back and look if I could recall any mentioned principles in the future.

Người đua diều

It made me appreciate my peaceful family and country much more, and despite war. A very touching story about friendship and children. I personally do not like touchy stuff, so this book is not my type, but it’s overall a good-read. I read it very quick in 4-5 days.

The 5 AM Club

This book really motivated me to walk up and run, meditate, work at 5 AM for a week. I was surprised. I didn’t have the discipline to keep it going, just another excuse of mine. Plus, I started to work night-shift again, so waking up at 5 AM didn’t work, but I’ll try this book again when I have my normal hours back.

What every body is saying

To me, this book requires a lot dedication, focus and discipline to practice, and then you will be able to read people. I find it hard to find a space in your head dedicate to read people, although I know it’ll be very helpful if we can acquire this skill.

Think rich and grow rich

I heard of many controversy about Napoleon Hill and his book. I’m curious to know if they’re true, but at the same time, the truth won’t change what I feels about his books. I read a few of them they were all great. They helped shaped my mindset for the positive outlook.

I am very proud that I had a chance to be a student of prof. Gene Hammond in WRT 101 at SBU. I feels special. Especially when prof. Hammond is so good at teaching. He’s calm and patient. Although his book is very technical, and I don’t really member most of it to be honest. I will definitely read it again when I start writing.

2. Upton Sinclair

The Jungle

I had to read this book for Mr. Grasso’s history class at St. John the Baptist High school. At this time, I have not realized the importance of reading yet. I read this book just to get by and do a test, but this book fueled my growing interest in reading. It’s a touching story that paints a period in the U.S history. Reading this book, I remembered how I came to realize how far a part the U.S education system from the one I just recently experience in Vietnam. It’s night and day. The education in the U.S must be 20-30 years ahead, At least.
